Christine McGuinness declares she's 'back' and issues 'coming soon' announcement

Christine McGuinness has declared she is "back" as she confirmed her role on BBC Celebrity MasterChef. On Wednesday, June 19, mum-of-three Christine confirmed that she'll be among the celebrities heading into the Celebrity MasterChef kitchen this year.

The series, filmed earlier this year, will air on BBC One this summer and see judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace put the 20 celebrities through their paces as they embark on six weeks of cooking challenges to be crowned the champion.

Christine wrote on Instagram: "@masterchefuk Allow me to serve you! I am very excited (and nervous) to say 'I will be BACK ON YOUR SCREENS later this summer!' #CelebrityMasterChef is coming to @bbc @bbcone @bbciplayer #CelebrityMasterChef #MasterChefUK #iPlayer."

Katie Attwood, series editor for MasterChef, said: "Celebrity MasterChef fans are in for a treat this summer with a top line-up of celebrities and the ever-thrilling John [Torode] and Gregg [Wallace] on judging duty.

"These stars will need to pull out all the stops this year as we are testing their mettle. It is one you will not want to miss." Sarah Clay, commissioning editor for the BBC, said: "The standard of this competition gets higher and higher every year so expect lots of laughs and some rivalry as we are set for some of the hardest challenges yet.

"These stars are a brave brunch and they are taking us on a brilliant ride, all in the hands of our judges, John and Gregg." Christine, 36, from Blackpool, is famous for her appearances on shows including The Real Housewives of Cheshire and The Real Full Monty.

Charlotte Crosby (Geordie Shore) and Chloe Burrows (Love Island), singers Ian 'H' Watkins (Steps) and Mutya Buena (Sugababes), and radio stars OJ Borg (BBC Radio 2) and Snoochie Shy (BBC Radio 1Xtra) are all also set to compete.
