BBC Radio 1's Clara Amfo has moved on from the station's Future Sounds show and has now explained why. The host revealed all as she is set to host a new show on ITV1.

Clara revealed all in her with Lorraine's Ranvir Singh on ITV on Friday (May 3), as she prepares to host the first instalment of her new show, ITV Studio Sessions. It will feature sets from up-and-coming British music stars, including Ashby's star singer Sekou.

However, questions about the end of her stint on Radio 1's Future Sounds could not be ignored, reports the Mirror. She confronted it head on and said: "I'm still part of the BBC family and the ITV family", before admitted that she wanted to "keep everything fresh" for her fans.

Clara continued: "There are so many thing is that I love, I'm a creative person, and there are so many things that I don't have time to do. Something had to give".

Clara has been replaced on Future Sounds by Jack Saunders. She will continue to host special shows on the network and looks back on her Radio 1 stint fondly. She said: "I had an incredible time, I've got to meet my heroes, to travel different countries. It's time to move on and pass it on. You can't be selfish when you're doing a job like this."

Clara's departure was revealed in December last year. At the time, she said she was "so proud" of the work she'd undertaken for the show. She said: "I'm so honoured by the incredible artists and their hardworking teams who have chosen the show to share their work and intimate thoughts, constantly providing one of the most precious things we all need to keep going in this wild world."

All six episodes of ITV Studio Sessions will be available to stream on ITVX from Friday, May 3. They will then be exclusively broadcast on ITV1 every Friday night at 10.45pm.
