Claudio Ranieri answers Jamie Vardy transfer question after Leicester City striker spotted with Italian club
Former Leicester City boss Claudio Ranieri says he is none the wiser about Jamie Vardy's Leicester City future after the striker was spotted in Italy over the weekend.
As things stand, Vardy is on course to depart with club legend status when his current City contract expires on June 30. At that point he would be free to sign for any club of his desire, as the 37-year-old has already admitted he is not ready to retire.
On Friday he was in attendance alongside CEO and former Chelsea player Dennis Wise as Northern Italian club Como 1907, who are managed by Cesc Fabregas, earned promotion from Serie B to Serie A in their final game of the season.

But it appears the Englishman is keeping his cards close to his chest with regards to a switch, even amongst his closest confidants. Now head coach of Caglieri, Ranieri was asked by TV Dello Sport following his team's 5-1 defeat to AC Milan about the Foxes man's future.
"I don't know that," he bluntly responded. "No, he didn't call me. I don't think he even has my Italian number. I don't know if Fabregas is interested in him. But I'm certainly glad to see all my players who fought for the title with me in England."
So whether Vardy relishes a new challenge or not remains to be seen, as after last month's title decider at Preston North End it was he that said: "Listen, I’m not ready to hang the boots up yet. The legs feel fine and I feel as fit as I ever have so we’ll just see what happens."
In 494 appearances for the Foxes he has scored 190 goals and registered 66 assists, winning the Premier League title, FA Cup, Community Shield and now the Championship title for a second time.
