The source described it as “the northern tail of Hurricane Beryl as seen from Santo Domingo.”

The Dominican Republic was left relatively unscathed by the passage of Beryl compared to territories like Grenada and St Lucia, with only minimal damage reported.

The boardwalk was closed in Santo Domingo because of strong waves, local reports said.
