After a wet and miserable start to April, the weekend finally saw a few sunny and dry days in Northern Ireland.

While the sunny weather will not be as prevalent in the coming days, the dry weather is set to continue with only a few rainy spells predicted.

The Met Office forecasters have given their predictions for the week ahead saying that it will be a cloudy start on Monday morning with the chance of a few spells of rain before things brighten later in the afternoon.

The Met Office said: "A cloudy start to the day with some outbreaks of light rain or drizzle, this lingering through much of the day but brightening up into the evening. Maximum temperature 13C."

Tuesday and Wednesday are set to be sunnier days with long spells of sunshine predicted throughout both days before the weather takes a turn on Thursday, when there could be a few long spells of rain.

This pattern is predicted to continue into the weekend which is due to be quite cloudy with patches of rain and sunny weather at times.
