Clwyd North general election 2024: The constituency results in full

Labour's GIll German is elected as MP for Clwyd North. She defeated Conservative MS Darren Millar who was hoping to be elected to Westminster.

Clwyd North is a newly-named constituency that is being contested at this election for the first time. It has emerged from the shakeup of parliamentary boundaries in Wales designed to shrink the number of seats from 40 to 32 and create more equally-sized constituencies.

It is made up of almost 70% of the former Clwyd West constituency, which had been represented by David Jones, and 64.1% of the Vale of Clwyd seat.

David Jones, the former MP for Clwyd West and a former secretary of state for Wales, did not stand again and the Vale of Clwyd seat has been abolished. Labour's Ms German was the pollsters' favourite.

Result:

Gill German (Labour) - 14,794
Martyn James Hogg (Green Party) - 1,391
Darren Millar (Conservatives) - 13,598 Jamie Orange (Reform UK) - 7,000 Paul John Rowlinson (Plaid Cymru) - 3,159 David James Wilkins (Lib Dem) - 1,685
