Voters in Clwyd North have gone to the ballot box to elect their MP in the General Election 2024. And the new constituency was claimed by Gill German (Labour) who polled 14,794 of the votes, with Darren Millar in second place on 13,598. The results followed a great night for Labour at the ballot box and an awful night for the Conservatives.

Labour seats fell across the region to the Tories, during the 2019 General Election - as Boris Johnson led the charge on the back of his "Get Brexit Done" campaign. But last night the red wall was rebuilt across North Wales and the UK, as the Tory vote crumbled.

Clwyd North is a new constituency created out of two former Tory held seats. It will be made up of 69.8% of the former Clwyd West constituency, represented by David Jones, who is retiring this election.

The rest is made up of the old Vale of Clwyd seat (64.1%) which is being abolished. It includes parts of Rhyl, Abergele, Denbigh, Towyn and Rhuddlan.
