A POPULAR activities centre which already boasts a rage room, axe throwing and much more, is set to open a brand-new feature later this month.

Urban Xtreme, located at Temple Bridge, in Colne Avenue, Colchester, is set to launch six airsoft lanes, where customers will be able to shoot at electronic targets using a range of airguns.

The business was opened in April last year by Colchester residents Simon Farmer, Rob Clark and Scott Hinchcliffe.

It already has two rage rooms, axe throwing, arcade games and a café on site.

A standard session using the new airsoft lanes will cost £25 for 30 minutes, using roughly 400 BB rounds on two paper targets.

A more technical option on offer for £40 is a 45-minute session shooting at interactive targets and then four paper targets using 800 BB pellets.

A final package is £50 for an hour-long airsoft session, where you can spend 30 minutes shooting the interactive targets and then eight paper targets with 1,400 BB pellets.

The Airsoft BB’s are only available for customers aged 18 and over but any child over the age of 11 can use gel blasters.

Rob said: “This has been three months in the works.

“We are really happy to announce we will have this up and running on June 26, it has been a lot of hard work from the team.

“Building on the success of our existing activities such as axe throwing, rage room, and retro gaming, we have recognised the growing demand for diverse and engaging experiences.

“Understanding people enjoy indulging in multiple activities during their day’s outings or booking in for events or parties, this is why we have added airsoft to our location.

“In our commitment to providing entertainment for all age groups, we have ensured that our activities cater to our younger audience.

“For our airsoft experience, we have sourced some unique interactive screens, which will provide both beginner and seasoned airsoft enthusiasts with a fun unique experience."
