Coleraine FC have been pleased with the response they have received from potential new additions. Recruitment was always going to be key for the Bannsiders as they move into a new full-time set-up.

Kyle McClelland, Kirk McLauglin, Dylan Boyle and Cameron Stewart have arrived at The Showgrounds in recent weeks. They look set to be joined by a number of players from across the water in the coming days as Dean Shiels bolsters his squad further.

The move to full-time and the recent financial investment has opened up a wider market for the Bannsiders. New CEO Simon Magee said the club have been impressed with the desire shown by potential new recruits to come to the Ballycastle Road.

"The feedback has been really good," said Magee when asked about the response they have received from players. "Kyle [McClelland] was over last week and he was buzzing about the project.

"He'd done his bit of research and had been approached by two other clubs in the Irish League. He got a phone call from Larne but this was the project he wanted to come to.

"He saw an opportunity, he has links to NI so he gets it. I think the positive of a new start is big for players. We do our research on players, players do their research on clubs, and his feedback was good. He knew a little bit about the area having played in the Milk Cup.

"The two things that are asked very early by any player are – are you full-time and do you provide accommodation? We can now answer yes to those questions where we never could before.

"There will be housing for players and facilities, everything they would expect of a full-time club somewhere else and it will exist at Coleraine. So their experience, in theory, should be good.

"We have facilities here where everything is on site, not like we have to jump to three other training pitches during the week. Everything's here, gym etc, to be a full-time set-up. It should be the equal of anything in the league, if not better than most."
