Comforting posts and quotes have been left outside a local train station after a person died last week.

Officers were called to Thatcham Station at 3:40 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended however a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Since then an unknown group of people, or a kind-hearted individual, has been leaving messages of compassion and kindness at Thatcham Station.

A member of the community posted several photos of these laminated messages on Facebook with the following caption.

"Walking to Thatcham train station after work today I spotted all of these notes on the lamp posts," they said.

"Hopefully it makes someone think twice about doing a terrible thing and they can reflect a little."

She also mentioned that The Samaritans were in attendance

Other people commented on the photos to express their gratitude for such a thoughtful act of compassion.

The notes at the station read various phrases, some of which are 'never give up,' 'keep on trying,' and 'never stop moving forward.'

One user commented on the post "Been having a rubbish week so, and these really lifted me today.

"I recognise the Samaritan on the platform as a doctor from the Bucklebury practice (sorry been a while since I was there, can’t remember your name). Thank you for what you do. Lifted my mood and no prescription required."

If you, or anyone close to you, needs to speak to someone please call The Samaritans on 116 123.
