Confirmed: 45 new homes to be built in Bucks village with population of roughly 1k

A house development company has received approval from Buckinghamshire Council to build 45 new homes near Princes Risborough.

The properties, which will be situated along Kimblewick Road in Great Kimble will be built by Cala Homes

The new development known as ‘Arabella Park’ will bring a variety of choices for house hunters, including a range of one- and two-bedroom affordable apartments; three- and four-bedroom affordable houses; and three- to -five-bedroom open market houses.

The mix of options means there will be suitable homes for first-time buyers, families, and downsizers.

In addition to these  new homes, future residents will benefit from over 1.5 hectares of surrounding open space, allowing quick and easy access to green areas and outdoor leisure activities, while new footpaths and cycleways will connect the development to the existing network enabling a direct route to the famous ‘Aylesbury Ring’, a long-distance rambling route through beautiful, varied countryside.

Jim Brunt, Land Director at Cala (Chiltern) commented: “Following consent for our Reserved Matters application, we are excited to commence building Arabella Park and with work due to start in June 2024, we are currently projecting that homes will be ready in early 2025.

“This development will further strengthen our presence in Buckinghamshire where we have delivered a number of much needed sites to date including at our Farendon Fields development in Weston Turville which delivered 121 homes."

Sustainability measures at Arabella Park will see every new home equipped with air-source heat pumps and electric vehicle charging points, allowing residents to make positive steps to reduce their impact on the environment.

Through Cala’s Urban Wildlife Strategy, important measures to support wildlife will be incorporated including bird nesting features, specialist hedgehog fencing, bat boxes or bat roosting tiles and native tree planting.

Cala has also committed to establishing a Community Pledge for the new development.

Each pledge will bring together a bespoke programme of activity designed to address specific community needs.

Activity could include financial support, volunteering, schools’ programmes and more.

“This initiative is already having a positive impact across the Aylesbury area as so far, we have provided a pergola for Chilterns Dog Rescue Society and contributed training funding to Rennie Grove Peace Hospice Care.

“We have also installed a new fence for the local play area as part of these commitments to the local community of Arabella Park.
