Conjoined twins Carmen and Lupita Andrade have 'revealed all', including answering intimate questions. Carmen and Lupita are linked at the waist and recently hosted a Q&A to put to rest some of the most frequent questions they receive.

As reported by the Mirror, Carmen and Lupita have separate upper torsos, shoulders and heads - meaning they have their own thoughts, opinions and identities. They both have separate ID's and social security numbers.

Carmen said: "We're still two different people. So we have two separate ID's and ID numbers and social security. If one of us is tired, we both don't have to both be tired because we have two separate brains. Yes one of us can be awake and one us can be asleep because, again different brains. We are two separate people."

They each control their own limbs and Lupita explained that they can't control the other's. However, some basic functions are a little more difficult and have been a learning curve. Carmen said: "Yes I can drive. I have the right foot so I drive."

Despite having separate limbs, their bloodstream is shared, so getting drunk will affect them both - but their hunger cues are separate. Carmen and Lupita have different stomachs, but nutrients filter into the same bloodstream.

The shared bloodstream also means that if one of them were to die, they would both face the same fate, as reported by the Mirror. Carmen explained: "We share a bloodstream, so eventually sepsis will kick in and obviously within hours or days the other one will die, but we’re not dead, so why always ask us that?"

The twins do share the same reproductive system - and Carmen has a boyfriend, Daniel, who she met on Hinge. She didn't hide her conjoined twin and said that brought a lot of men into her messages. But Daniel was different.

Carmen said: "He didn’t lead with a question about my condition. I have social anxiety, and I’ve ended up cancelling dates at the last minute, but I felt calm on the way there."

While Lupita is asexual. Daniel and Lupita keep a platonic relationship and get along well. Carmen said: "It’s funny because I stay up later than Lupita, but when Daniel’s sleeps over, I fall asleep quickly — and he stays up talking with her."
