Coronation Street star Michael Le Vell has the full support of soap bosses after he was pictured boozing again - nearly two years after a rehab stint in April 2014.

The Kevin Webster actor, 51, had a pint in hand at the lavish Mere Golf Resort in Cheshire, sparking fears of a relapse.

But Corrie bosses say Michael has given them “no cause for concern”.

An ITV source told the Daily Star, “Mike continues to deliver professionally on a daily basis at work. All cast are currently on leave until at least January 4.”

Michael admitted to drinking up to 12 beers a day, as well as taking cocaine, at his “lowest ebb” in the lead-up to his trial for child sex abuse charges in 2013.

He was cleared of the crime but the intensity of the legal proceedings took their toll.

Michael famously celebrated his acquittal by raising a glass, but went to rehab just months later.

An eyewitness who spotted the soap star at a New Year’s bash at the luxury Mere Golf Resort, said: “There were a number of famous people there but Michael is instantly recognisable to just about anybody who watches television.

"His issues have been very well documented and a few people were surprised to see him with a pint in his hand joining in the drinking with friends.”

"He’s a very nice bloke and clearly very sociable but drink has been a problem for him. Hopefully he’s not gone back to where he was a couple of years ago,” the onlooker added to The Sun.
