Coronation Street fans say 'that explains all' as Lauren Bolton move causes horror before pregnancy reveal

Coronation Street fans think Lauren Bolton's pregnancy may have been hinted at months ago after a move before her disappearance caused horror. The teen made a dramatic return to Weatherfield this week after going missing back in February.

Lauren, played by Cait Fitton, disappeared without a trace on February 23 after being sacked from her job at Roys Rolls and later being visited by a mystery person, who viewers never got to see. it was Bobby Crawford who found Lauren's flat empty before a missing person case ensued.

However, three months after she left without a trace, in May, it was confirmed that it was Joel Deering who was behind her disappearance - not Roy Cropper as DS Lisa Swain decided when she charged him with Lauren's murder after she was presumed dead.

At the time, a flashback clip revealed that the solicitor as being Lauren's secret 'boyfriend' and saw him brutally attack her with a chair leg. But it wasn't until this week that Lauren was confirmed to have survived the brutal bashing and was seen at Roy's bedside after he suffered a heart attack.

But Corrie fans have since been shown what really happened between Lauren and Joel in the lead-up to his shocking attack. During Tuesday night's (July 9) episode, as she tried to make an exit from the hospital undetected, Lauren was grabbed by Joel, played by Calum Lill, who covered her mouth to stop her screams and dragged her into a family room where they had an intense confrontation.

Viewers were treated to a number of flashback clips in which they saw how Joel came to meet Lauren, which was at the police station where he was the duty solicitor at the time, before he started helping her pay her bills. He then continued to provide her with money and gifts, in return for sleeping with him.

But it was when she tried to end things once and for all, and threatened to tell his fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey that Joel snapped and attacked her. In the hospital, Joel appeared to go to hurt Lauren once again but as she cowered and clutched her stomach, her attacker spotted her baby bump, confirming she is pregnant with his child. She then had to do another runner from Joel, managing to escape into a taxi outside the hospital.

However, it seems Corrie fans were distracted by one of the flashback scenes which showed Lauren moments before Joel appeared at her door and unleashed his nasty attack. She'd just made herself a bacon sandwich and was smothering it in tomato ketchup as the door knocked.
