Coronation Street fans say 'hang on' over Toyah pregnancy as they make tragic prediction

Coronation Street fans have said they 'knew' the twist was coming after Toyah Habeeb found out she was pregnant - but others were left a little more baffled.

A portion of loyal fans of the ITV soap now think things will quickly turn tragic for the character after spoilers revealed news of a second bombshell. Toyah, played by Georgia Taylor, is hiding a huge secret from her sister Leanne Battersby having enjoyed a very brief fling with her fiancé Nick Tilsley.

Fans previously predicted the pair could find solace in one another after Toyah's heartbreaking secret was uncovered, while Nick faces isolation from his partner Leanne due to her growing association with Rowan Cunliffe and the Institute.

In scenes aired in May, with their relationship in freefall, Leanne then walked out of the flat and it was Toyah who was there to comfort Nick, in more ways than one after a shock passionate clinch. But their draw to one another has only continued.

Last month, it was the day of Rose's funeral, the daughter of Toyah who was born stillborn in 2001 and was fathered by Toyah's rapist, Phil Simmonds, and that she had kept the pregnancy and premature birth hidden. In emotional scenes, after criminal proceedings were dropped, Toyah was able to hold a funeral for Rose.

But it was ruined by the discovery that Leanne hadn't paid for it with her savings after all, and that it was Rowan who stumped up the cash in another attempt to silence Toyah after she refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to stop talking badly about the Institute. When Toyah later refused to back down, she was shocked to discover that she and Nick had been caught kissing by one of Rowan's pals, which he later sent to her as another form of blackmail, but it fell short of revealing the pair had actually slept together.

However, Rowan now knows just how far their passionate clinch went after Leanne informed him Toyah was pregnant during scenes aired during Wednesday night's (July 3) Corrie. It started at the Bistro when Toyah was seen doubled over in pain. Leanne insisted she go home and back at the flat, she complained to Nik that she wasn't feeling great but as he left, she collapsed to the floor and returning home, Nick found her in agony.

He took her to the hospital and as he and Leanne were seen waiting at her bedside before the doctor delivered the shock news that she was pregnant. Leanne was baffled as to how that could be the case, with Toyah under the impression she couldn't have children and the fact she is currently single. Toyah put it down to a one-night stand but Nick's guilt was written all over his face.

Reacting to the pregnancy twist, @tinassweetfurbabies said: "Hang on it was only 2 weeks ago they slept together." @mermaidlaura2023 commented: "They only slept together the other day." @mikyla_potton19 added: "Hang on what, didn’t think he got her up the duff? I know they kissed but not that."

But others are predicting there will be a tragic twist as spoilers revealed that Toyah is set to get more news from the hospital in Friday's (July 5) episode.
