Yahoo News Coronation Street fans point out Maria Windass blunder as Gary lies amid Liam overdose
Coronation Street fans think they have spotted a blunder by Maria Windass after her husband Gary lied about his whereabouts as she frantically called him after her son, Liam, was found collapsed.
As viewers of the ITV soap know, things haven't been easy for Liam in recent months having been targeted by Weatherfield High bully Mason Radcliffe and his cruel mates, one being neighbour and former friend Dylan Wilson.
Liam was seen being subject to intense bullying by the group with Mason even pulling a knife on Liam during one of his heartbreaking bullying sessions and the infuriating bullying campaign later resulted in the heartbreaking discovery that Liam was contemplating taking his own life.

A terrified Maria has since watched her son's every move, even going so far as to set up a camera in their home, as she did what she could to get help and justice for her son, which did happen when Mason was told would have to face a custodial sentence as he had been convicted of possessing a knife before.
Liam has since returned to school, despite Maria's reservations and has been cautious over whether he is coping. During Monday night's (May 6) trip to Weatherfield, Liam and Joseph Brown settle down to watch a film. When Joseph asked Liam if things have improved at school, Liam struggled to breathe and reached for his inhaler.
Joseph urged him to tell Maria about his panic attacks but Liam refused as he didn’t want to worry her. After being joined by Bernie Winter for their film, the two boys were disappointed to find she'd eaten all their sweets. So while Joseph keeps a lookout, Liam rummaged in the cupboards for more snacks.
But he was intrigued to find Paul Foreman's stash of Benzo pills and put them in his pocket. After Gary walked him home, Liam's stepdad became distracted by seeing ex-Sarah Barlow and sent Liam up to the flat thinking Maria would be back and claiming he had a job to do.
Once inside, with Maria not home and feeling a panic attack coming on, Liam took out Paul’s pills and was later seen lying unconscious after taking some of the tablets to try to manage his anxiety. He was later found by a distraught Maria after Billy Mayhew altered her to the missing pills. Gary eventually arrived at the hospital and was confronted by Maria who wondered where he'd been.
But Corrie fans were quick to spot a potential blunder from Maria. @pam_debeauvoir said: "Surely Maria can smell drink on Gary's breath...or maybe she can smell his bull***t instead." @spartacus2963 commented: "It's a mystery why Maria can’t smell the alcohol on Gary’s breath..."
@CavoloChe questioned: "Can't Maria smell the wine on Gary's breath? Why is he drinking and driving to the hospital as well? #Corrie." @ColBloodnok added: "'I'm sorry, I had fit a wardrobe, what happened?' He took some pills and why do you smell of wine? #Corrie."
