Coronation Street fans 'rule out' character from Nathan attack mystery
Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street fans feel they can confidently rule out a character in the storyline concerning the identity of Nathan Curtis' attacker.
In earlier scenes of the soap, Bethany Platt's former abuser Nathan returned to Weatherfield. Given Nathan's 2017 grooming of Bethany and attempt to traffic her, the character is amongst the suspects of Lauren Bolton's murder, with Bethany being convinced he must be behind her disappearance.
Recently, the villain was attacked at the construction site where he works, though the attacker was never shown on camera. While David Platt seemed to be the culprit as he had blood on his jeans, it seems that some eagle-eyed Corrie fans are convinced he isn't behind the attack.

The proof is in the shoes, apparently. As the assailant was dressed in total black with black shoes, many Corrie viewers pointed out that David normally wears brown boots and therefore couldn't be the one responsible for Nathan's injuries.
"Nathan's attacker was wearing black shoes. David had brown boots on," one person pointed out on Twitter/X, with others buying into the theory.
This keeps the attack a mystery, leaving both Daniel Osbourne and Gary Windass as potential suspects.

In previous episodes, David assured Bethany and Sarah Barlow that he didn't attack Nathan, but had to admit he did witness the assault when Shona showed the tracking app on his phone, proving that he was at the building site when the baddie was knocked out.
David's explanation leaves Bethany convinced that Daniel is to blame, but will she be able to prove it?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
