Lucy Fallon thrilled fans when she returned to Coronation Street last year.

The soap star is renowned for her role as Bethany Platt on the Cobbles. The 28-year-old joined the cast in 2015 and was a mainstay in Weatherfield until she temporarily exited in 2020.

Viewers were delighted when Bethany made her eagerly awaited return last year and she has immediately been thrust into the centre of the drama. The character has reprised her romance with Daniel Osbourne, who have both become embroiled in the mystery surrounding Lauren Bolton's disappearance.

Daniel was questioned by police after Bobby Crawford changed his account of events to protect Roy Cropper. During Bethany's first stint on the Cobbles, she was targeted by the abusive Nathan Curtis.

The evil character is set to return after Bethany will discover he has been released from prison. Bethany is set to confront her abuser as she is convinced he could be responsible for Lauren's disappearance.

Away from the screen, Lucy has also appeared in a main role on new show, Soap Queens. The reality programme gives fans an insight into her happy life away from the Cobbles with her partner, Ryan Ledson, and young child, Sonny.

Ledson is a footballer for Preston North End, who rose through the ranks at Everton FC. In the first episode of the show, Lucy joked she is still waiting for the midfielder to propose.

She said: "I am not engaged. It's actually become a bit of a running joke now. But I think the more I go on about it, the longer it's going to be. So maybe I just need to stop talking about it and then it will happen. Maybe."

Lucy was flooded with support when she opened up on her and Ryan's toughest moment when she suffered a miscarriage. She was tearful in the show as she said: "In the first year me and Ryan were together I fell pregnant for the first time.

"We were really excited and we booked a scan. I feel like I'm going to get upset. We went for the first scan and I didn't expect anything would be wrong and she told us that there was no heartbeat and the baby had died.

"That was one of the most difficult things me and Ryan have ever had to go through and I think I really struggled with it after because it felt like everybody moved on and everyone's lives went back to normal and I felt like I couldn't ."

Lucy was flooded with messages of support after the show aired and she thanked fans on her Instagram account. She said: "Thank you so much for all your gorgeous messages about last nights ep of @dramaqueensitv.

"We had a super difficult start to 2022 and talking about it brings back a lot of painful memories. I'm equally comforted and heartbroken to know so many of you can relate to our situation.

"We have been so lucky to create our little family and I feel very grateful every single day to be in the position that we are in. I know for a lot of people it can be very different.

"Thank you to my Ryan for being everything you are to us and to our Sonny for being the sunshine we needed the most."

Helen Flanagan was one of the stars who sent a message of support as she said: "Love you Lucy."

Sally Carman added: "Oh sweetheart." Laura Norton commented: "Brave beautiful lady."
