After celebrating the new year, Faye will be seen driving a tipsy Emma home, but disaster strikes when the car hits an old man by the name of Ted who’s carrying his shopping.

But Emma will later grow concerned when, back on the Street, Imran notices she’s looking a little worse for wear and says she shouldn’t be overseeing a learner driver while under the influence and that, if there’d been an accident, she’d be in trouble.
Deciding they need to check up on Ted, we’ll then witness Emma and Faye heading back to his flat to apologise while also deciding between the two of them to keep the accident a secret...
Is Abi really expecting Imran’s baby?
Abi’s face is a picture of anxiety as she worries about what she’s going to do if she discovers that she’s pregnant.
Meeting up with Imran in Victoria Garden, Abi tells him that she’s going to do a pregnancy test and that, if it’s positive, she’ll tell Kevin as he deserves to know the truth.
But, caught up in their conversation, neither of them spot Kevin approaching. How much has he overheard?
Sam finally speaks to Nick
Sam is yet to break his silence, even while sitting down at the café for a game of chess against Roy. But when the youngster is beaten in two moves, he ends up getting upset and stalking out.
Later in the week, both Roy and Mary decide to teach Sam some famous chess moves. Having borrowed Hope’s walkie-talkies, Nick plays along from the Bistro and, much to his delight, Sam ends up talking to him for the first time since his mum’s death.
Adam leaves Lydia shaken
Adam finds that his car has been keyed and accuses Lydia of being responsible. She denies it, but is clearly shaken by Adam’s words and ends up arriving at the factory for a business meeting clearly drunk.
As a result of her actions, Lydia loses her job. But Adam is later given pause for thought when Craig reveals that the person responsible for the damage to the vehicle was the disgruntled loser of a court case in which Adam was involved.
On Friday, Adam makes amends by getting Lydia the job of PA at the factory. But who is it that has daubed the word “Scum” on Adam’s office window. He suspects his disgruntled client but has the legal eagle made the correct assumption?
Tim needs major heart surgery
The Metcalfes want to start 2022 with a healthy new regime, but a check-up with Dr Gaddas results in Tim receiving worrying news.
After he’s told that he needs to see a cardiologist, Tim decides to keep this development from Sally, who can’t understand why he’s suddenly refusing to accompany her on a run.
But worse news is to come for Tim who, having now taken Aggie into his confidence, attends his appointment and is told that what he needs is a triple heart bypass.
