Coronation Street has revealed a first look at newcomer Estelle's arrival in Weatherfield.

Earlier this month, it was announced that West End star Ruthie Henshall would be making a guest appearance on the cobbles as Estelle, an old friend of Glenda Shuttleworth (played by Jodie Prenger).

In some new stills, George and Todd can be seen showing their difficult new customer Estelle out of the undertakers, where they bump into Glenda.

Glenda recognises Estelle right away and reminds her that they used to work on cruise ships together.

As the pair catch up, Estelle reveals that she is now the co-owner of a performing arts club for children.

Glenda's interests are piqued when Estelle informs her that anyone can buy into the franchise and start their own branch. Will Glenda be getting her chequebook out?

Previously speaking about being cast in the role of Estelle, Henshall said in a statement: "This is one of the most enjoyable guest roles of my career. Everyone is so welcoming and I can’t believe after years of the street being in my life that I finally get to tread the cobbles.

"Getting to act with Jodie was a joy and every member of the cast was welcoming and kind. Estelle is delighted to find her old friend Glenda and share a show tune or two to remember times spent entertaining on board cruises.

"I am so excited and delighted to be on the street where so many brilliant actors strut, and have strutted, their stuff."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
