Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street has revealed a first look at danger for Roy Cropper in the ongoing Lauren Bolton storyline.

In spoilers revealed last week, Roy is set to be wrongly arrested as Lauren's disappearance turns into a murder case.

In scenes set to air on Monday, March 18, an internet sleuth overhears Roy talking to Nina and Yasmeen in the café, where he tells the pair that he's been asked to return to the police station to be interviewed over Lauren's disappearance.

After hearing David and Shona discussing whether Lauren's dad's far right group could be involved in the case, Max goes to visit Reece in prison. The teen informs the inmate of the police wrongly suspecting Roy of harming Lauren, when all he actually did was clean her flat.

Later, Roy finds himself alone in the café with two suspicious looking men sitting at a table nearby. When one of them gets up to lock the door, Roy realises he isn't safe.

Will someone be able to help him?

Roy actor David Neilson recently opened up about the future danger that awaits his character and how it will impact him.

"I think he's a great student of life in a lot of ways," he said. "Here are these people threatening him, an old guy on his own and yes he's frightened. But he's like, I don't know where they are coming from, what is wrong with them, they're human, he is human, why is this happening?

"He does feel like it is the beginning of something. He's hoping it's not but it's sort of a build up of something. And everything he does or says is being misinterpreted and he doesn't really have a voice."

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
