Abi makes secret plans to flee with Alfie

Abi turns up at Alfie’s naming ceremony and takes some pictures of her son before secretly meeting up with an old contact by the name of Matty.

It’s obvious that Abi has ulterior motives as she tells Matty to work his magic. And on Wednesday, all becomes clear when, as Abi takes Alfie for a walk, she’s contacted by Matty and tells him that she’s happy to wait a week for the fake passports. But will Abi really attempt to abscond?

Fiz is haunted by her past

Fiz meets up with Phill and his friends but one of then, a solicitor named Graham, recognises her from her trial. He explains that he was on the prosecution team, but it’s a revelation that leaves Fiz fretting as she’s never told Phill about her serial killer ex-husband.

Later in the week, the topic also comes up at the factory, with Michael left fascinated after realising that Fiz was once married to John Stape. But she can’t stand the pressure and dashes out, overcome with feelings of humiliation.

Tyrone, meanwhile, starts to worry that Fiz’s current partner is also keeping secrets after spotting him in Victoria Garden handing a bloke a large envelope. It’s an odd sight as Phill is, at that moment, meant to be in Leeds…

Tracy tries to wreck Daniel’s career

Mrs Cranshaw has what she thinks is good news for Daniel: a permanent teaching post has come up and she’d like him to apply for it.

But after spying Daniel sharing a laugh with Ken, Tracy goes all out to wreck this career opportunity and attempts to get David to support her act of sabotage. However, it’s Daniel himself who ends up scuppering his own chances when he tells Mrs Cranshaw on Friday that he doesn’t think he’s cut out for teaching and is jacking it in.

While this is music to David’s ears, Nicky reacts in an entirely different way and ends up suggesting to Daniel that they could have a future together. But will she get the reaction she’s hoping for?

Tim’s secret is revealed

Tim wins a romantic night for two for him and Sally in one of Debbie’s hotels. But he makes the mistake of ordering erectile dysfunction tablets – and ignoring the warning about heart conditions. As a result, he ends up collapsing on the hotel bed and it’s left to a shocked Sal to call an ambulance.

In the aftermath, an embarrassed Tim overhears Ronnie telling Sally how sorry he is that her romantic getaway was “such a flop”. And leaping to the wrong conclusion, Tim ends up punching Ronnie in the face!

Jacob is exposed

Amy and Jacob are worrying about their broken boiler and where they’re going to get their next shower. But Jacob spies an opportunity when Mary realises she’s left Tracy’s order book at home and he offers to pick it up for her.

Eileen then returns home to find Jacob wearing just a towel having treated himself to a shower. As Eileen screams and threatens to ring the police, Jacob is left trying to come up with an urgent explanation for his actions.
