Coronation Street spoilers: Imran funeral drama revealed, Toyah’s police visit, plus Wendy Crozier’s return

Toyah heads to the police station after Imran’s funeral on Coronation Street next week, while Ken’s ex-lover Wendy is back, plus Brian has a proposal in mind.

Toyah attends Imran’s funeral

At Imran’s funeral service, Toyah delivers an emotional eulogy in which she expresses her wish that Imran had survived the car crash and not her. But Adam and Alya are both dubious about her sincerity.

Later on, Peter informs Toyah of Adam’s allegation and the questioning he’s faced about Suzy. Deciding she needs to give her side of the story, Toyah drops in at the police station and tells DS Swain there are things they need to talk about.

Wednesday’s drama then finds Toyah making it clear that she didn’t intend to kill Imran and won’t lie to that effect. Leanne, meanwhile, is determined to stand by her sister.

Abi makes a big mistake

Abi attends the custody hearing for baby Alfie, and while sitting in the waiting room before proceedings start, she starts slating the judicial system to a woman sitting nearby.

Once in the courtroom, though, Abi gets a shock when the judge takes her seat – and it turns to be the woman from the waiting room!

Believing she’s now ruined any chance she might have had, Abi listens as the local authority solicitor outlines what he sees as her failings as a mother and recommends that Alfie remain in care. So is Abi about to lose her son yet again?

A familiar face returns

Wendy Papadopoulos (nee Crozier) will be reappearing in this batch of episodes, playing a foster carer linked to another’s character’s current predicament.

Ken’s one-time “other woman” was last seen back in November 2012, but actress Roberta Kerr is set to return to the role after a decade away and will be seen first in scenes set to air on Friday, 17 June.

Will Cathy marry Brian?

Brian is banging on about the new life he has in mind for him and Cathy in Cornwall. But a canny Evelyn can tell that Cathy isn’t excited about the idea and tells Brian he needs a more romantic strategy.

By way of a response, Brian then proposes marriage and Cathy – eventually and after hiding her misgivings – agrees. But as Brian puts in an offer on a house in Cornwall in the hope that she’ll come with him, will she be able to bring herself to go?

Fiz to move back to the Street?

Phill has bad news for Fiz: their whole house is a death trap and needs rewiring. Tyrone then makes the suggestion that Fiz and the girls should move back in at No 9 while the work is carried out, and Phill agrees that this will be for the best.

Preparations for the pair’s wedding also continue with Phill revealing that his mother is able to attend the nuptials after all and would like to be involved in the run-up to the big day. But Fiz makes things clear: she can attend the service, but that’s it.
