Coronation Street star Isabella Flanagan has shared her sadness as she bid farewell to her 'best friend' co-star after two years. The ITV soap's Hope Stape actress was saying goodbye to Savannah Kunyo who first arrived in the soap back in 2022 as Eliza Woodrow.

She arrived on the cobbles as the granddaughter of Stu Carpenter after he reached out to his daughter, Eliza's mum Bridget, as he got back on his feet following a spell of homelessness after his release from prison after nearly three decades.

It soon led to Stu, played by Bill Fellows, being exonerated for a murder he didn't commit after Bridget and Eliza's grandmother Lucy, Stu's ex, finally confessed to the murder of Charlie Walter, a crime for which Stu had served 27 years following a wrongful conviction.

After Eliza ended up living with Stu and Yasmeen Nazir in Weatherfield, things appeared to be going well but her curiosity about the rest of her family saw her contact her biological father Dom Everett in 2023 and quickly focused on building a relationship with him beer since, much to Stu's initial disapproval.

This led to her moving away from the street and in with her dad against Stu's wishes. However, after hiring a private investigator, Stu discovered Dom had a secret family and cut a deal with her granddaughter's father for him to disappear and for Eliza to stay with him on the street, in exchange for £10,000.

However, Dom later returned the money in early 2024 as he couldn't deal with the guilt which led to Eliza finding out about her family and going over to meet them. She's since decided she wants to live with her dad in Hamburg and during Wednesday night's (April 17) episode of the ITV soap, Eliza was seen saying her goodbyes to her friends Sam Blakeman and Hope Stape as well as Yasmeen and Alya Nazir before Stu headed with her to the airport where he'll travel with her to Germany and help her settle in.

Since the scenes aired, Isabella, known as Bella, took to her parent-managed Instagram account and shared a string of photos and videos of herself and Savannah together as she paid tribute to her friend and co-star upon her exit.

"Now @savannah_and_paris has officially left the cobbles [crying emoji], one of my bestest friends I’ve made in all my time on corrie and so so sad to see you go, love you always Sav," she sweetly typed. She then added: "PS: scroll to the end for my favourite video of all time x #hopedobbs #elizawoodrow #corrie #coronationstreet."

Savannah was quick to respond, writing: "HAHAHA I laughed so hard at that vid [crying emojis] seriously though I’m really gonna miss you all my besties."

It comes after Jude Riordan, who plays Sam Blakeman, also shared his own behind-the-scenes snaps and message to his departing co-star. The actor, who also stars in Sky Comedy Brassic, shared a picture of himself Savannah and Hope actress Bella Flanagan taken at the Salford-based set on their co-star's last day as she held onto a box of beautiful flowers and a leaving gift.

Jude sweetly said: "We miss you lots Savannah @savannah_and_paris had the best times [red heart emoji] #corrie #corriekids #elizawoodrow #samblakeman #hopestape #3amigos." Savannah was then quick to respond to the post, writing: "ah miss you too. Literally had the Best time of my life there with you all."
