Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has been told 'that's all you need' as he shared a moving post about being a father after addressing his split for the first time. Last month, the actor seemingly confirmed he was single again after years of dating former co-star Tisha Merry.

Alan known for his role as Tyrone Dobbs in the ITV soap, met Tisha, who played Steph Britton on the cobbles between 2013 to 2018, on set and they began dating shortly after she left the show. It was reported the pair had split and last month, Alan shared a humorous moment on Instagram which led him to make a dig at single life, and suggesting he might be using dating apps to find a new partner.

The 41-year-old actor shared the funny moment a playful dog attempted to mount him. He posted a picture of the dog, captioning it with a face-in-hand emoji: "Apparently we're not best friends. Most action I've had in a while ffs fml." He then shared another photo with the dog, suggesting it could be his "New Tinder profile picture", joking about a possible return to the dating scene.

Alan, who has played the Weatherfield mechanic in Corrie for two decades, does have a very important young woman in his life, his daughter Sianna-Rae who he shares with ex-wife, former Corrie and Hollyoaks star Lucy-Jo Hudson.

And taking to Instagram earlier this week, he shared a photo of the pair taken during their recent escapades in which they could be seen sporting oversized coats as they stood atop rocks and looked out to the sea surrounding them.

Captioning the post, the soap star wrote in view of his fans and followers: "Whenever you need me, this is where I’ll be…. Right by your side!!" And it didn't take long for the messages to come flooding in over the sweet snap.

@sezzie80 said: "That’s all you need, until the right one comes along." @carollacey23 commented: "Love this photo so very special." @mamasewstuff wrote: "The best side kick is your kid." @sueranshaw gushed: "You are such a lovely human and dad." @lisalackin77 posted: "Beautiful picture." This is lovely Alan." @christof_b88 added: "This is lovely Alan. Always love your posts."

It comes after Alan didn't appear too pleased with his golfing prowess at the moment as its had to take a back seat amid his recovery from surgery. He described his virtual sporting efforts as 'woeful' as he made comments about going under the knife last year.

Alan revealed on social media that he was having surgery in November by sharing a picture of himself after going under the knife to fix an ACL injury. The ACL is one of two ligaments that cross in the middle of the knee, connecting your thighbone to your shinbone and helping stabilize your knee joint. In the photo shared to his Instagram page, Alan could be seen giving a thumbs up for the camera.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday (June 4), Alan shared how he'd been partaking in some virtual golf but he didn't appear impressed with his performance. Writing alongside a picture on his Stories, the soap star said: "A whole year off and still rehabbing my knee. I'm gonna need so much help... these shots are woeful."

But he didn't let it bother him for too long as on Wednesday (June 5), Alan appeared in high spirits as he enjoyed brunch with his co-star who he branded a 'hunk'. The 41-year-old headed out with his pal Andy Whyment, who is know for playing Corrie's Kirk Sutherland.
