Yahoo News Coronation Street's Alexandra Mardell marries fiancé
Former Coronation Street star Alexandra Mardell has given fans an insight into her wedding with partner Joe Parker.
The Emma Brooker actress got engaged in 2021 and tied the knot in Yorkshire on March 19 this year. The bride and groom asked their guests to keep their big day private, not posting pictures on social media so they could reveal them in their own time.
"We just wanted it to be private for friends and family," Mardell told OK! magazine.

"We asked politely for people not to use phones during the ceremony and to keep any pictures offline. Everyone said that they really enjoyed being present. It was just about us all being there on the day and it was lovely," she continued.
"We just asked everyone to pass the word around and that if they didn't mind, to wait until we'd posted pictures. Everyone has stood by that – and now we're so excited to share them!"
She and Parker said "I do" in front of 90 of their loved ones at The Tithe Barn in Bolton Abbey, Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Speaking about the location, Mardell said it was "gorgeous", though they risked having a wet wedding as it had been snowing in the days before the ceremony.
"It was gorgeous – the scenery was stunning," she said.
"The weather was great, considering it was snowing a few days before. We'd booked the wedding date two years prior because that weekend had been a heatwave for the past two years. And then on the week of our wedding, it was snowing!
"I thought, 'Oh my gosh, what are we going to do?' But luckily it was dry!"
