Coronation Street star Andy Whyment was given a new nickname on I’m a Celebrity… South Africa tonight (May 4), when the actor let his hunger get the better of him.
The actor, who plays Kirk Sutherland on the ITV soap, became frustrated after his team lost out in the challenge once more, resigning him to a fifth consecutive night of rice and beans in the process.

After learning that Paul Burrell had lost the challenge to Helen Flanagan, Andy bemoaned that he would be eating a basic meal for another night, with the social media team for the series calling him ‘Hangry Andy.’
“I’m just getting really fed up of this place,” he said after he realised he wouldn’t be getting a treat. “I’m sick of f****** rice and beans constantly. I had it for two nights in the first camp - I’ve had enough.
“I hate all this ‘one team gets a treat, the other one doesn’t.’ I think it’s b******* - absolute b*******” he exclaimed, before consoling Paul by saying it wasn’t his fault.

Several social media users joked about his out-of-character outburst, with one writing: “Anyone upsetting Andy Whyment will face the nations’ wrath.” Another user wrote: “Fair play Andy you were more polite than I would have been… would have wrecked the camp!”
Elsewhere in the episode, a storm threatened to ravage the camp at night, with the campmates having to shield their belongings from the downpour. Andy also got in a minor spat with Janice Dickinson, who believed the actor “didn’t want to do anything for her.”
I'm a Celebrity… South Africa airs on Mondays-Fridays at 9pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
