Coronation Street star Andy Whyment found himself addressing concerns about his welfare despite being seen living the noughties dream on a night out with his wife. The actor spent his weekend break away from the cobbles jumping on Manchester's new Bee Network and heading into town for the night.

Taking to his Instagram Story, Andy shared a selfie of himself and his wife, Nichola, as they boarded the V2 bus after a Chinese dinner.. The pair were heading to The Bridgewater Hall where boyband - or should we say 'manband' - Blue were performing as part of their latest tour.

BRIT Award winners Duncan James, Lee Ryan, Simon Webbe and Antony Costa brought their Greatest Hits Tour to the venue on Saturday night (May 11), which happened to be their last stop on the road, as they performed their best-loved songs and sharing anecdotes from throughout their time in the industry.

And Andy appeared to enjoy himself alongside Nichola as he headed backstage to catch up with the band, sharing a snap of himself and Antony to Instagram.

The soap star, famed for playing Kirk Sutherland in ITV's Corrie, also shared a string of videos from the gig as he and his other half sang along to the likes of One Love, All Rise and U Make Me Wanna.

Captioning his wholesome post to his 383,000 followers, Andy said: "Me and @nicski31 had a top night watching @officialblue, thanks @antonycosta for sorting the tickets you guys were fantastic as always." And Antony was quick to respond, writing: "Ah big love bro to you and Nicky."

And his fans and followers were quite enjoying the content too. @lynnlornie said: "Looks a lot of fun." @adalonsdale6330 commented: "Wow looks like a fab night." @traceyhowell64 wrote: "It was amazing, brilliant night." @donnathornton7922 added: "You could’ve sang with them Andy."

But of Andy's fans shared a concern after reading something online about the star. They said: "I thought you had died because of a Corrie spoiler thingy I watched I’m so much happier knowing you are alive and well." But he reassures in response: "Yes I’m very much alive and well thankfully."

The comment likely comes after Andy said he was 'sad to hear' about the death of one of his former co-stars Bernard Hill. Following the sad news of the Titanic and The Lord Of The Rings star's death, Andy was among those reflecting on working with Hill in a role before he became famed for playing Kirk Sutherland in Corrie.

Sharing a picture of the pair, the soap star said on Instagram: "My first major speaking part was on a show called Once Upon a Time in the North, it was a 6 part series and Bernard Hill played my dad, sad to hear of his passing today RIP Bernard."
