Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney has shared an 'exciting' update with fans after getting tongues wagging by being spotted out and about with Ricky Hatton. The actress and the Manchester boxing hero both recently appeared on Dancing on Ice, which aired on ITV between January and March.

It has since been reported that Claire, 52, and Ricky, 45, were spotted cosying up to each other at a pub in Ricky's hometown of Hyde on Saturday night (April 6).

They were seen leaving their first boozer with friends at around 6pm, with Ricky carrying bottles of Veuve Clicquot champagne. The pair were later spotted arm in arm arriving at another nearby pub at about 11pm, with their arms around one another.

It has since emerged that on Friday night (April 5), the pair, who are believed to be dating, were spotted visiting The Crown pub in Heaton Moor where they were said to have been hanging out with the locals during an evening of live music.

But Claire isn't letting interest in her love life distract her as she took to social media on Wednesday (April 10) as she revealed she was hard at work - but not on the Corrie cobbles where she plays Cassie Plummer in the ITV soap.

Sharing a picture to her Instagram Story, Claire showed off a stunning kitchen space with glass doors that led out to a patioed area with steps leading to a long garden. "Beautiful location," the soap star commented before showing another photo of camera equipment close by.

She then shared a picture from the location's bedroom with producer and director Ben McElligott. As he beamed for Claire's snap while holding a camera in his own hand, she said: "Filming something very exciting today!!!! With @jelz."

It comes after Claire joned the cast of Corrie as the estranged mum of Tyrone Dobbs last year. Her casting was revealed almost a year ago, in April 2023, and she made her first appearance in June last year as Tyrone's real mum and the daughter of Evelyn Plummer.

After a tricky start, Cassie appears to have mended her fractured relationship with Evelyn, played by Dame Maureen Lipman, and has settled into the Dobbs' family home with Tyrone, played by Alan Halsall, his wife Fiz Stape and their children Hope and Ruby.
