Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney stuns fans with 'quite the change' after soap announcement

Coronation Street star Claire Sweeney was flooded with compliments from fans as she debuted 'quite the change' from how they are now used to seeing her on the cobbles. The glamourous actress was talking all things Cassie Plummer during an appearance on ITV's Lorraine.

Corrie fans are currently watching Claire play the daughter of Evelyn Plummer after she arrived in Weatherfield last year and revealed herself as Tyrone Dobb's real mum, much to the mechanic's shock.

After vowing to her new-found family to stay clean, Cassie quickly found herself with a job at the garage. However, her meddling in Kevin and Abi Webster saw her lose her job - despite her being found not to be responsible for the shocking deep fake porn videos of Abi.

But more recently, Cassie has found herself in the fold at No.1 having become Ken Barlow's carer after he fell down the stairs and fractured his pelvis before seemingly winning Steve McDonald around and starting a new double act.

After talking about her time so far on the cobbles, and teasing what's to come, as she spoke to Lorraine Kelly, Claire took to Instagram and said she can't believe how quickly time has gone as she marked a year on the famous street.

Alongside pictures from her appearance on the ITV chat show, in which she looked fabulous in a hot pink jumpsuit, Claire wrote to her followers: "Always love chatting to @lorraine about @coronationstreet and my storyline with the brilliant @fat_dracula."

The 53-year-old added: "Can’t believe I have already been in the show one year! Great to see Jill Halfpenny and Thankyou for looking after me @amelia.emin5 jumpsuit from @me_andem shoes @solebliss. Makeup @francescajordan hair @lperriton thank-you ladies."

Claire's Corrie co-star Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster in the long-running show, was among the first to respond and said: "You look lovely." While Claire's fans and followers were also quick to respond with their compliments and praise.
