Coronation Street's Ed Bailey to make a difficult confession to his brother Ronnie

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Ed Bailey will make a difficult confession to his brother Ronnie in upcoming scenes after his gambling gets son Michael arrested.

Michael was brought in for police questioning after a misunderstanding sparked suspicion over his connection to serial killer Stephen Reid, who was dramatically killed off last week.

Confused by a large amount of cash that he finds in his work bag, Michael finds himself being accused by DS Swain of working with Stephen to defraud Underworld and demands answers.

The money happened to be his father Ed's gambling winnings, after placing a successful £1,000 bet on a horse. Hellbent on keeping his gambling a secret from his family, Ed placed the money in a bag which Michael took to work, unaware of its contents.

In the aftermath, Ed is agitated, which leads to Ronnie wondering what's been going on. Ronnie soon demands Ed to tell the truth, suspecting him of gambling.

Ed eventually confesses that he won money on the horses, before claiming that he won't gamble again.

How will Ronnie respond to this explanation, and will he tell the other Baileys?

Ed and Ronnie haven't had the easiest time of late, following the insider trading scam they took part in with Debbie Webster, which ultimately led to Ed slipping back into his gambling habits.

Ahead of Ed's confession, it was recently announced that a new family member will be joining the Bailey clan in Weatherfield soon. Desmond's star Ram John Holder will be appearing for a guest stint on the cobbles as Ed and Ronnie's dad, Sarge.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
