Coronation Street's Gemma Winter caught out in Henry Newton return story

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Coronation Street's Gemma Winter-Brown is going to be caught out next week as the returning Henry Newton storyline continues.

Gemma, Chesney and the family have been facing some financial hardships as of late and it's been suggested that the rich brewery heir could potentially help her out — although her husband isn't keen on the idea of her reconnecting with her former love interest.

In scenes set to air next week, Gemma remains determined that getting a job working for Henry is the best way to bring some much needed money in.

She goes to work for Henry, lying to Chesney by telling him that she'll be working in a different department to him.

But it doesn't take long for the ruse to be brought to light, as Chesney sees Gemma getting into Henry's car.

Will Chesney react angrily to Gemma's lie, or will he quietly let her get on with it for now due to their desperate situation? And why does Henry really want to work with Gemma again?

In another upcoming story for the family, Gemma's mother Bernie will cause friction with Dev Alahan as they hold a memorial for Shobna Gulati, and she suggests that Shobna's spirit is making things happen around the house.

Dev isn't best pleased with the suggestion from Bernie, and he lashes out by asking her what she was trying to achieve with all her supernatural nonsense (his words, not ours).

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
