Coronation Street's Jack P Shepherd wished well and teased by co-stars as he ditches UK with girlfriend

Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd has been teased by his co-stars as he revealed he's ditched the UK with his girlfriend. It's fair to say that the actor is a far cry from Weatherfield as he took to social media with updates from his incredible trip.

Jack, who is famed for playing David Platt in the ITV soap, has swapped the cobbles for a safari track as he and Hanni Treweek headed to Tanzania.

The soap star has been sharing updates with his 395,000 Instagram followers with one post showing a pack of lions enjoying a very bloody meal while there was also clips of Hanni filming the wild animals.

Captioning the update, Jack simply said: "King of the jungle". And some of his co-stars were quick to comment with Sam Blakeman actor Jude Riordan quipping: "Knowsley Safari Park is looking great Jack," while Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker, replied: "Here kitty kitty."

It came after a previous update as he shared their journey into the wilderness areas of the East African country by jeep with the road completely overtaken by wild animals. "Traffic in the Serengeti #Zebra #Wilderbeast," Jack quipped alongside the incredible footage.

And his fans and followers were quick to respond. @silver100a said: "My Bucket List!. My Dream. I hope you are both having the Best time." @nannie_jannie commented: "One day Manchester canal and geese next day Africa and zebra. Wonderful memories." @canuck_kiwi wrote: "Wow!!!!!!!"

@reba_hill warned: "Amazing!!! What a vacation! Enjoy but stay far enough away that we won’t be seeing a replacement ‘Jack on the sofa’ or ‘David on the cobbles’." @thomasforrest95 joked: "Well that definitely isn't aAncoats mate. Looks amazing." @sharonlambert999 added: "Have an amazing time."

The break comes after Jack divided fans last month when he was seen 'being an adult' in one of his latest social media posts. The 36-year-old took to social media with an update on his home with left his co-star completely abuzz.

Jack was seen posing in his kitchen alongside his brand-new appliance. The 36-year-old beamed for the camera as he could be seen leaning on the kitchen counter while sporting his black skinny jeans and white striped top. Hanni was also seen testing out the new dishwasher as the soap star gushed over its arrival.

"It's arrived!" he declared before explaining it's been a point of interest on On The Sofa, the podcast he co-hosts with Corrie co-stars Colson and Ben Price. He continued: "If you listen to the podcast you’ll know we’ve been washing up for 18 months! Luckily @ao were on hand to help out massively providing us with this all singing, all dancing Miele dishwasher. You can tell I’m middle-aged by how excited I am.
