Coronation Street star Jodie Prenger has offered an update after revealing her recent animal rescue. Fans of the actress and West End star will know that she's a massive animal lover with her own crew of four-legged and feathered friends occupying her smallholding with businessman fiancé Simon Booth.

Jodie revealed back in 2022 that at the time she had three rescue cows, three rescue ducks, three cats and three dogs. She also said: "I also have about 17 rescue chickens including my cockerel, Harry," during a chat with the Manchester Evening News.

But she has since expanded her animal brood, with the updated total of animals in her care including five dogs and 16 ex-battery hens. However, Jodie does have a newer addition, a crow she has named Sheryl.

During a recent appearance on This Morning, Jodie, who is currently playing Glenda Shuttlworth in ITV's Corrie, told hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about her cohort of adopted pets. "I've got too many animals. I have to get home and see my rescue crow when I get back," she said.

"I have adopted a crow, she's called Sheryl Crow!" Jodie explained: 'She's just injured but she's great. I rescue quit a lot. She's got a damaged wing. I FaceTime my chickens when I am away because I want to make sure that they're ok. They're called Thelma and Louise."

Ben and Cat broke out laughing as soap star Jodie revealed the names of her rescue animals and went on to mention how one of her chickens has to live inside. But speaking of Sheryl and Jodie recently took to social media with an update on the bird.

Sharing a picture of the inquisitive house guest, Jodie wrote on her Instagram Story: "Sheryl update... Thanks for all the messages. She's doing great you know. Wound healed really well and she eats like a little star." It is then when she added: "She will be flying high soon, gonna miss her."

Last year, Jodie was flooded with messages as she paid tribute to the late Paul O'Grady by renaming her new rescue dog Lily, in memory of the the comedian's drag persona, Lily Savage.

Next to a photograph of her cute new canine, Jodie told her fans and followers: "Well Paul, this is for you kidda. We picked up this little angel on Sunday. I’ve spoke to the amazing charity @silverfoxdogrescue and we will be renaming her Lily. May Paul's dedication to loving and rehoming animals live on forever," [sic].
