Coronation Street star Lucy Fallon has been seen breaking down in tears as she opened up about suffering a miscarriage before welcoming her first child into the world. The actress and her footballer boyfriend Ryan Ledson went public with their relationship in June 2021.

Their romance, which came almost a year after she was reported to have split from her former boyfriend of three years Tom Leech, blossomed in lockdown after they had got talking on the celebrity dating app, Raya.

They then announced in September 2022 that Lucy, who is known for playing Bethany Platt in the ITV soap, was pregnant with her and Ryan's first child and was already five months pregnant. But their happy news came after Lucy suffered a tragic miscarriage back in March 2022.

Lucy, who returned to Corrie as Bethany Platt at the end of last year, is said to open up about having a miscarriage on the next episode of ITVBe reality show Drama Queens. The reality TV show follows several soap stars and gives viewers an insight into their lives off-screen.

A clip from this week's episode of the show has been released in advance of airing on Wednesday night (April 24) and shows a teary-eyed Lucy recounting her first pregnancy. In the clip, released by the Sun, the 28-year-old says: "In the first year that me and Ryan were together I fell pregnant for the first time."

Lucy said that they were "really excited," before adding: "And we booked a scan and we ... I feel like I'm gonna get upset." It's believed that she takes a moment to compose herself and is subsequently seen stating in the video ahead of the next episode: "We went for the first scan and I didn't expect that anything would be wrong and [the nurse] told us that there was no heartbeat. That the baby had died."

The publication reports that Lucy is then seen in tears whilst celebrating Sonny's first birthday, which took place in February, during filming for Drama Queens. She's said to state that because of the "harder times" that they had before the pregnancy with Sonny, which was "filled with so much anxiety," she now looks at her family and it feels "even more special".

Lucy previously opened up about having experienced a miscarriage in an interview with OK! magazine in 2022. She told the outlet that herself and Ryan, who plays as a midfielder for Preston North End, discovered the news during a private scan at seven weeks. She shared that she had pregnancy symptoms and was "feeling really unwell," with her symptoms "getting worse" amid the scans. She said there were "no signs" that she'd had a miscarriage, which "made it more of a shock".

She added in the interview at the time: "It was a traumatising, horrendous time. We went for a scan and they couldn't see anything, so then we went to the hospital and they thought they could see something, so it was very up and down."
