Coronation Street's Paul to receive surprising health news

Coronation Street spoilers follow.

Paul Foreman will receive some upsetting news following his recent crash incident on Coronation Street.

The character, played by Peter Ash, is keen to return to work after Carla Barlow knocked him off his motorbike at the wheel of the Underworld van. Recently, the factory owner was drugged by villain Stephen Reid, with her LSD intoxication playing a substantial part in the crash.

While Stephen's involvement hasn't come to light just yet, Paul is considering suing Carla, but a new development may stop his plan in its tracks.

In new scenes, Paul admits there hasn't been an improvement in his hand, with his doctor referring him to a neurologist for further exams.

The neurologist informs Paul he will have to take some more scans, though it is unlikely that his hand problems may have been caused by the accident.

Dee-Dee Bailey tells him that, if this is the case, he won't be entitled to compensation.

The prospect of not receiving money after the accident hits Paul hard, as do concerns over his health. What could be causing him pain? And is it treatable?

Previously, Carla's husband Peter had tried to convince Paul not to sue by offering him £15,000. The latter initially took the money but then followed Dee-Dee's precious advice and returned it, telling Peter he'd rather wait to have an official diagnosis before making any move.

Will Paul's condition prevent him from suing Carla for negligence? And how will it impact his work?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
