Coronation Street's Sally Dynevor shares major family news and says 'it's made my year'

Coronation Street star Sally Dynevor has been left 'thrilled' as she was able to finally confirm some big family news. The actress took a break from the cobbles on Monday (May 10) and was seen on the Loose Women panel.

Sally, who is famed for playing Sally Metcalfe - nee Webster - in the ITV soap, was seen alongside Charlene White, Linda Robson and Brenda Edwards on the ITV lunchtime news and was quickly asked about rumours on her eldest daughter's love life.

Earlier this month, Sally took to Instagram with a snap of Bridgerton star Phoebe looking loved-up with her beau Cameron Fuller. The 29-year-old actress first sparked romance rumours with actor Cameron, 28 last year, with the couple keeping a low profile save for a handful of rare public outings, such as Wimbledon 2023.

With love blossoming between the pair, back in February 2024, Cameron, who is the son of A Quiet Place producer Brad Fuller appeared alongside Phoebe to the BAFTA Film Awards in central London. But it now appears the couple are ready to take things even further, with Phoebe spotted wearing a sparkling ring on her 'engagement finger' with E! sharing the news on the red carpet.

In Sally's picture, Phoebe could be seen embracing Cameron with her hand lovingly placed on his cheek and one of her feet lifted off the ground. Cameron pulled his partner in close as he wrapped both hands around her waist and they both smiled as if posing for a photo with a gorgeous rainbow in the sky behind them.

But while the couple haven't explicitly confirmed the news, with Phoebe being seen at the MET Gala with a dazzling ring on the traditional engagement finger and Cameron sharing a sweet snap, seemingly from the proposal, on Instagram in which he could be seen embracing his shocked partner from behind on a stone balcony, Sally has confirmed Phoebe and Cameron are set to tie the knot.

Sally said on Loose Women: "My daughter has just got engaged ... He's gorgeous, he's such a lovely man. I'm so, so happy. I'm thrilled, it's actually made my year."

Sally insisted she won't be getting involved in the couple's wedding plans and will let them decide what they want for their big day. Discussing the ceremony, she said: "To be honest, I'll be keeping well out of it."

Sally's intention has turned to what comes after the nuptials, and she is hoping that grandchildren come along sooner rather than later. The legendary soap actress - who is married to scriptwriter Tim Dynevor, with whom she has two other children - said: "I can't wait for my grandchildren, [although] let's not jump ahead!"
