Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Coronation Street star Stephanie Davis has revealed that she hopes her character Courtney Vance will have a long-term future on the cobbles.
Davis joined the show earlier in the year, as Courtney and husband Darren Vance were looking to go into business with Dev Alahan. However, Courtney later began an affair with Dev's son Aadi, ultimately breaking off her marriage to be with him.
Speaking to Digital Spy and other media, Davis said she "would love" to stick around on the soap.
"She's one of those characters that could do anything and be involved with anything. She would love a good gossip to know what's going on with everybody else," the actress said.
"I know the fans think I'm the new barmaid of The Rovers and I'd love that in the future, I could see her being a really good landlady - she's that type of character and getting involved with everybody's business. But we'll have to wait and see what happens."
Upcoming scenes will see Courtney and Aadi's relationship tested after Dev attempts to bribe her stay away from his son after a trip to the Bistro causes a heated altercation between the couple and Darren.
Speaking about her character's current storyline, Davis revealed that she's "zooming through" her scripts as she can't wait to see what the character is up to next.
"She's honestly the best character, I get new scripts and I'm zooming through as I can't wait to see what she's up to next and it never disappoints!" she said, adding that she would love to see Courtney interact with the soap's famous characters, such as Audrey Roberts and the rest of the Platts.
"I'm loving where she's going and what's happening for her. I'm really happy."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
