Yahoo News Kate Beckinsale urges others to 'pass on' kindness during 'uncertain times'
Kate Beckinsale has lauded others’ kindness as the "light in the dark" during the "uncertain times" amid the coronavirus outbreak.
While the actor is based in the US, she's shared that her pals in the UK have offered to help out her 73-year-old mother Judy Loe and 83-year-old stepfather Roy Battersby.
Beckinsale, 46, posted to Instagram messages she'd received from friends offering to do shopping and run errands for her mother and stepfather, and urged others to "pass on" kindness themselves.

She wrote alongside screenshots of the texts: "In these horrid uncertain times with everyone trying to look after themselves, so many of my dearest English friends have independently of each other offered to help my mum.
“None of them live nearby and all of them are among the best and kindest people in the world with their own families and responsibilities and fears.Within all the terror is the absolute grace of kindness.
"Let’s all pass it on any way we can. It’s the light in the dark. I love you people xxx."

The mother-of-one's comments come as Britain is set to isolate over-70s in the coming weeks after Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the elderly would be shielded from the virus.
During Boris Johnson’s first daily update on Monday afternoon, he said the elderly could go out for walks while in the suggested confinement period.
In addition, the Prime Minister explained that MPs over 70 will be urged to stay away from Parliament.
Janet Street-Porter, 73, has protested against the measures set to come in to place for over-70s, writing in the Mail Online that she “did not see the point of 'self isolation' if [she is] well”.
The journalist has appeared on Loose Women this week, which no longer has a live studio audience in order to prevent the spread of the virus.
