Coronation Street fans are convinced they've worked out Toyah Habeeb's game plan - and things appear grim for Rowan Cunliffe.

The Weatherfield soap introduced the parents to a suspicious "self-improvement group" known as The Institute earlier in the year. Under the guidance of its charismatic leader, Rowan Cunliffe (Emhrys Cooper), the cult quickly drew in Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Leanne didn't hesitate to get involved, causing worry for Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) and her sister Toyah Habeeb (Georgia Taylor), both expressing their doubts about the group.

Despite their unease, The Institute has managed to maintain a grasp on Leanne, pulling her further into its orbit and leading her to introduce Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) to its ranks.

In a twist, it turns out Leanne has unknowingly been confiding in Rowan, who has been manipulating her by misusing her trust. On the other hand, Toyah's been wrestling with her grief, reports the Express.

Opening up to Nick about the devastating loss of her stillborn child Rose, the two find solace in each other's company, culminating in an affair.

Catching them in the act, Rowan leverages this to coerce Toyah into signing a non-disclosure agreement to silence her about The Institute. Nevertheless, Toyah continues her covert inquiries into the organisation.

This week's episodes saw Toyah join Leanne at the Chariot Square Hotel for an introductory session for new faces, where Leanne was thrilled to spot Amy among the group.

Toyah Battersby's latest move has left Coronation Street fans convinced she's plotting to expose The Institute from within.

Speculation is rife on social media, with one Reddit user commenting: "I hope Toyah is going to take them down from the inside."

Another added their thoughts, saying: "I reckon she's gonna pretend to be interested to make sure Amy and Leanne are ok and hopefully take them down."

Meanwhile, a viewer on platform X shared their theory: "Toyah is definitely up to something." While another suggested: "Toyah is trying to get dirt on the institute."

The theories continue to swirl, with one person pondering: "Wonder if Amy and Toyah are working together to suss out Rowan's cult? " This prompted a reply from another fan who observed: "It does look suspicious especially when Toyah said about cult is working."

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
