Yahoo News Corrie star promises "steamy" Eva and Adam scenes
Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley has backed Eva Price's new romance with Adam Barlow.
Fans will see the pair grow even closer in the run-up to Christmas, as local vicar Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) continues his attempts to matchmake them.
When Billy asks Eva and Adam to help him out with the local grotto, he gets much more than he bargained for when they dress as an elf and a sexy reindeer in front of the kids.
The festive fun helps to bring Eva and Adam together at last – giving Eva the fresh start she needs after her disastrous relationship with Aidan Connor.
Speaking about the storyline, Catherine explained: "Eva has now moved on from Aidan. Initially she thought Adam was attractive, but that's where it ended. Her heart was with Aidan, but slowly but surely, as Adam has persisted, she has fallen for him. So it's nice to see her happy.
"Adam is very charming and we know he's not whiter than white. He does have this other side to him, but the side that Eva sees is very much Prince Charming and he was there for her. Because we've seen a lot with Adam with the darker side, I think it's really nice for the viewers to see that he has got this softer side too.
"On her wedding day, before Eva went to walk down the aisle, he said to her: 'You take my breath away'. So it's nice to see that side of him.
"For Eva, because she's got issues with not having a dad around, she always feels like she can't be on her own. She always feels like she needs a guy in her life. With Adam, I think she feels quite safe.
"He's being very gentlemanly and giving her lots of compliments and so there's no negative to him. He kind of ticks every box for her."
Catherine also admitted that she had some doubts when she first saw Eva's sexy Christmas costume.
She laughed: "It's so illegal! They're at the community centre and it's a children's nativity, so I felt bad actually wearing that outfit in front of children! I actually FaceTimed my son from my neck upwards. There's nothing fluffy about it, it's a bondagey reindeer!
"She's a reindeer and Adam is an elf. When they go to get changed, she can't get her outfit off and he's like: 'Oh, well I'll help you'. Then things get a little bit more than steamy. But it's very funny – that's the comic relief at Christmas."
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
