Yahoo News Corrie's Daisy and Ryan face unexpected acid attack theory

Coronation Street's Daisy Midgeley and Ryan Connor will be put through another ordeal next week, as Justin Rutherford's trial takes a bizarre and worrying turn.
Upcoming scenes will see stalker Justin attend court, as his trial for committing a horrific acid attack against Daisy and Ryan gets underway.
The week gets off to a bad start for Daisy and Ryan when Justin's sister Karen, who previously gained Daisy's trust back in March, shows up at the Rovers again on the eve of Justin's trial, supposedly to show her support for Daisy.

However, it turns out that Karen has an ulterior motive. After she hears Ryan remind Daisy of how she previously sabotaged his relationship with Alya Nazir, Karen sneakily passes on the details to Justin's defence lawyer, with the aim of throwing Daisy's character into question.
When devastated Ryan finds out what Karen has done, he hides out in the Street Cars flat, worried about what this could mean for the trial outcome.
After Ryan fails to turn up at court, Carla Barlow desperately tries to call him. It isn't long before Daisy calls at the flat, and she's stunned when Ryan reveals that Karen was spying on them.

Daisy begs Ryan to reconsider attending court, as without his evidence, Justin could walk free.
Daisy feels stressed at the thought of facing Justin in court without Ryan there to back her up. Her partner Daniel Osbourne also implores Ryan to come to court, pointing out that Daisy will be living in constant fear if Justin walks away from the trial a free man. But Ryan continues to refuse to attend.
As the trial gets underway, the usher summons Daisy into court — but she quickly crumbles and admits to Daniel that she can't face giving evidence.

Daniel takes the witness box instead and tells the court about how Justin relentlessly stalked Daisy in the weeks leading up to the acid attack.
Overwhelmed Daisy prepares to flee the court, but Carla spots her and urges her to take a stand and prove to Justin that he can't control her.
Justin's defence barrister gives Daniel a grilling, deciding to paint Daisy as highly strung and unreliable. But Daisy gathers her strength and enters the witness box herself - will she be able to face reliving the attack for the court?

There's relief for Daisy and her supporters when Ryan has a change of heart and arrives at court. Entering the witness box, he tells the court about how Justin tried to throw acid at Daisy before Ryan stepped in front of her, describing the unbearable pain that he experienced.
But things take an unpleasant turn when the defence barrister cross-examines Ryan, suggesting that he is in love with Daisy and that the pair plotted the acid attack themselves. Ryan and Daisy are both horrified to hear this bizarre theory laid out.
Soon enough, it's Justin's turn to give evidence. How will he describe his version of events — and who will the court believe?
