Cottenham two-vehicle crash leaves road closed to traffic

Emergency services are at the scene of a two-vehicle crash on a Cambridgeshire village road. The incident was reported to have taken place at around 1pm on Wednesday (June 26).

Officers and paramedics were called to the crash on Broad Lane, in Cottenham. A road closure is in place until further notice and one person has been injured.

It is unknown how long the road will be closed for at this time. However, motorists are being advised to plan journeys accordingly and avoid the area.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: ""We were called at 1.02pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision in Broad Lane, Cottenham. Officers and paramedics are on the scene.

"It initially appears one person has suffered minor injuries. The road has been closed and we advise people to avoid the area."

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "High Street in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident from Margett Street to Smith's Path. Closure length extended."
