A village pub and restaurant could be turned into a house.

Mun Fatt Tham has applied for planning permission to change the use of the Duke's Head Tham's Restaurant and Bar from a pub to "full residential use".

The 17th century listed building, on the main A148 King's Lynn - Fakenham Road near the village green, has been on the market for over a year priced at £385,000.

Agents Belton Duffey say: "The current owners are looking to retire after 20 successful years in the business giving the new proprietors an opportunity to take full advantage of the good reputation and standing in the community alongside two decades of excellent reviews."

Asked about the planning application, Mr Tham's wife Lay Kim said the pub would remain open while they considered their options.

The couple have run the Duke's Head for more than 20 years, specialising in Cantonese cuisine alongside more traditional English staples.

They have drawn more than 100 reviews on Tripadvisor, with 90pc of them five stars.
