There could very well be a ...Has Fallen 4 movie

Angel Has Fallen is the third in a series we didn't need, want or ask for, but it seems to be what we deserve. Olympus Has Fallen had, despite poor critical reception, done so well at the box office that it garnered two follow-ups.

But with Angel Has Fallen has the franchise finally run out of steam?

The message of the movie is centred on, well, explosions. But secondary to the violence, action, drones, and things blowing up is a sense of responsibility to one's family. The lead tough guy, Mike Banning (played by Gerard Butler) has spent the previous movies having his body kicked around like a football and it's caught up with him.

By Angel Has Fallen the doctor warns him that headaches and insomnia he has are signs of spinal cord damage and if he continues in this way, he'll likely die.

But that didn't stop him fighting throughout the movie, and he makes it through all of that okay so doctors, huh, what do they know? Banning has no choice, though, when he's framed for an attack on the president – he must go to any (and every) length to catch the real bad guy and prove his innocence.

So where does this leave Mike Banning and a fourth ...Has Fallen movie? Though the well might seem dry, Angel Has Fallen has actually left open the door for a fourth movie.

The real baddie of the film is, surprise surprise, not Banning. Instead it's America's very own Vice President Kirby *gasp!* played by Tim Blake Nelson. He was colluding with Russia to start a war in order to Make America Strong Again... At least he was the bad guy.

Anyway, he's rumbled and in the end is arrested and escorted out of the White House. But now President Trumbull is left wondering who else Kirby has been in cahoots with. These other sleeper cells may very well be primed for a new warmonger to take over leadership, which could very well bring us to a ...Has Fallen 4.

Not to mention, Angel Has Fallen is set to hit No.1 this weekend in the North-American box office. The franchise shows no signs of slowing down, which means Mike Banning won't be able to either. Maybe he'll get a robotic spine and turn into RoboCop. That is a crossover we'd watch.

Angel Has Fallen is now playing in cinemas.
