A man has been arrested after thousands of pounds worth of heroin and cocaine were discovered in a county lines drugs raid.

Cops swooped on a property in the Milnafua area of Alness around 10am on Tuesday.

A stash of heroin and cocaine worth £32,000 and a large sum of cash were recovered form the property.

A 29-year-old was cuffed and has been charged in connection with drugs offences in the Highland town.

A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal and the man was expected to appear at Inverness Sheriff Court on today (Wednesday, May 1).

A detective has told how the bust was in relation to a crackdown on county lines drug activities in the Highlands.

Detective Inspector Andy Bilton of CID said: “We remain committed to disrupting county lines drug dealing activities in our Highland communities.

"We will continue to target drug dealers through local and national intelligence gathering as well as operational and enforcement activity.

"The public have a role to play in this by reporting drug misuse and associated criminality to us to that we can investigate.”
