In a startling discovery, a couple found a secret 'room of horrors' in their home four years after moving in. Aurora Blazingstar and her partner stumbled upon the mysterious space while removing carpet from their basement.

The revelation has left some fretting over their safety. Aurora created a stir on TikTok with a video showing her husband pushing aside a section of wall to reveal a metal door that led into an entirely new room, reports the Mirror.

This was no mere cupboard space - it opened up into an entire room, unbeknownst to the homeowners till then. Posting the clip on TikTok, she commented: "What the f***, we have never seen this in our house and we have lived here for four years."

Many TikTok fans were taken aback as they hadn't stumbled upon the hidden room during their tenancy. It had remained concealed behind a "sliding drywall pocket door."

The narrow chamber featured a drain, a functional light switch and an assortment of mats on the floor all signs of prior use. Aurora and her spouse playfully speculated about the possible use of the space; everything from a panic room or a bomb shelter to a gun safe was suggested.

However, some TikTok followers put forward more ominous theories, pointing out that a panic room would not sport an external handle. One user commented: "Ma'am, that screams murder room. You can only open the door from the outside, there is a floor drain and 'rust' on the floor. I think you guys need to have the police come in and look at that."

Another chimed in: "It actually looks like a room that a serial killer took his victims to chop them up. Look at the random drain in the floor." The homeowner then queried her audience: "Should be we bring in a cadaver dog? No, they've probably had a gun safe in here."

Subsequently, the TikToker updated her followers that the police had been summoned to inspect the area, yet they found no signs of criminal activity. She relayed: "They did not see any signs of crime, they are not investigating anything, they did not see anything that looked like DNA evidence that needed to be collected, but they were really impressed on how the room was hidden and that is was really cool."

Previously, the couple had uncovered another concealed space behind an upstairs wall mirror, which has since been converted into a playroom for their children.
