Courtney Stodden Flushes 5-Carat Engagement Ring Down the Toilet
“Onto the next chapter," the model announced in a new video that documented them flushing away the 5-carat diamond ring from ex-fiancé Chris Sheng
Courtney Stodden has rid their new home of remnants of their previous relationship.
The former Celebrity Big Brother star is throwing away any keepsakes from their previous relationship with ex-fiancé Chris Sheng — including their 5-carat engagement ring.
In a new video exclusively shared by TMZ, the 29-year-old — who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns — took a video in their bathroom and filmed themself discarding the ring in their toilet.
“Just doing a little last-minute spring cleaning before summer,” they said right before grabbing their diamond ring from their jewelry box.
“I guess diamonds aren't always a girl's best friend after all,” Stodden continued as they walked straight to the toilet and immediately flushed the ring away.
They waved at the toilet and chuckled to themself before returning to the mirror and announcing, “Onto the next chapter.”
They told TMZ the ring toss was inspired by James Cameron's Titanic.
"Like the little old lady who dropped it into the ocean in the end, I needed to rid myself of any remnants from the past that no longer had any hold on me. Rose’s character taught me something special - what a woman does with her diamonds is her prerogative," Stodden explained to the outlet.

In July 2023, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that Stodden ended their engagement to filmmaker Sheng, 44. “Courtney is now a single woman,” the star’s rep said in a statement to Page Six at the time. “She is looking forward to telling her story.”
Sheng proposed in 2021 and Stodden later announced the news on Instagram. "I said yes ... OH and the ring made me gag it's so beautiful," they wrote in a now-deleted post.

Prior to their relationship with Sheng, the model was married to actor Doug Hutchison. Stodden married the actor in 2011 at 16 years old. The former couple divorced in 2020.
Since their relationships with Hutchinson and Sheng, the TV personality has been romantically linked to producer Jared Safier. They began dating the Emmy winner, 41, last summer, and their romance is "moving very fast and is very serious," an insider told TMZ. The outlet reports that the producer has been ring shopping and is hoping to pop the question soon.
