The Coventry pub with 'the best mixed grills' and a 'great' play area for the kids

Most of us enjoy a pint and a curry - and Coventry has plenty of desi pubs that combine the traditional English pub culture with authentic Indian dishes. One desi pub in the city is being hailed as one of the 'cheapest places' that offers 'amazing mixed grills and curries'.

The New Horseshoe Bar and Grill on Foleshill Road welcomes diners for sizzling grills and authentic curries. And reviews say people love it there - and bring the kids for the play area, too.

The pub regularly features as one of the best curry houses in the city. And with most dishes under a tenner, it shouldn't break the bank either.

The New Horseshoe was formerly known as the Three Horse Shoes Inn before it transformed into an Indian bar and grill and is one of the city's oldest pubs. The pub underwent renovation a few years ago and now has a brand-new grill menu with a 'stunning' interior makeover.

The pub has a 4-star rating on Tripadvisor, with other ratings including food (4/5), service (4/5) and value (3.5/5). The establishment also has a 4.2-star rating on Google reviews.

One diner said it's the 'best mixi in the Midlands'. "I've been here numerous times and I am never disappointed!

"Highly recommend the butter chicken, chilli chicken, masala chips, and a mixed grill! Reasonably priced, has good service, and nice location/vibes."

Suki Gill said: "Great food as always. The Horseshoe Grill starters were very tasty.

"The prawn curry and chilli cheese naans were amazing. Everyone was impressed with the food.

"All the kids also had a great time playing in the external play area. A great Saturday evening for all the family with a fun and friendly atmosphere. A must-eat place in Coventry."
