Coyote With Head Stuck in Bucket Gets Rescued From San Diego Flooding

A coyote with its head stuck in a bucket was rescued from a flooded field full of debris in San Diego, California, on Monday, January 22.

The San Diego Humane Society said personnel were called to the flooded Tijuana River Valley, following reports a dog was floating in the debris with a bucket stuck on its head.

Due to the difficult terrain crews were only able to reach the animal by boat and discovered the animal was in fact a coyote.

Video from the San Diego Humane Society shows staff at the Bahde Wildlife Center removing the bucket from the animal’s head.

He was suffering from mild hypothermia, had cactus spines stuck in his fur, and wounds which needed treatment, the society said. Credit: San Diego Humane Society via Storyful
